Designs for Dignity

I discovered another non-profit interior design team called Dignity for Design. This Chicago-based group and affiliate of the Heartland Alliance, seeks to “heal through design.” As a network of donors, designers, and architects, Designs for Dignity redesigns nonprofit offices and spaces that serve basic needs, bringing design sensibility and a sense of home to under-represented places. Designs for Dignity has worked with Big Brothers Big Sisters, St. Vincent DePaul, and more, and recently has redesigned spaces for Chicago’s Lakeview Food Pantry (pictured above).

It’s so inspirational to see artist, architects, and designers donate their time to make a positive change in their local context. When design happens for worthy people we all win!

Check out their website for more information and read this article about Dignity for Design in one of my favorite publications Interior Design magazine.
