What is Design Stars:
Design Stars is in the style of a home renovation show where we share the inspirational story of a deserving family (via video) then have our designer stars bless them with an ‘extreme home makeover’ over the course of a weekend. Throughout the whole experience we learn not only about the family’s amazing journey but also the stories of the volunteer ‘stars’ that are involved. This is a chance for Design Stars to not only change hearts but to transform homes.

God has answered my prayers in allowing me to use my professional skills in ministry to serve others. It was a joy to work side by side all the volunteers that helped in the last project. I was also humbled and blessed by the gratitude of the homeowners.

Our Vision:
To connect with people making a difference in our community and blessing them by transforming one or multiple spaces in their home. We want to love our local servants by supporting the ’stars’ that so unselfishly serve our community. Our dream is that by creating bold, inspirational living spaces, we can inspire others to live out a bold and inspirational faith.

Target Homeowner:
We target individuals/families that have experiences loss or hardship in their life but are still committed to make a difference in the community of Orange County. Suggest a homeowner.

Who we are:
Design Stars started in 2008 is a non-profit initiative started by Newsong Church in Irvine, CA.

Definition of cWOW:
cWOW stands for ‘church without walls’. We believe our church is more than a building but its loving our community outside of our walls.

About Tony Kim:
Tony helped start Design Stars in the summer of 2008. His passions are visual arts, painting, and interior design. Since graduating with a graphic design degree, Tony has worked as a designer, art director, and creative director in the business world as well as church. He currently serves as the Executive Pastor, overseeing creative resourcing,  operations, and special projects at Newsong Church.
